Privacy Policy

Pockly ("we", "us", or "our") is a personal finance app that helps you track spending, manage budgets, and understand your financial habits. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use Pockly and how it is used.

1. Data You Enter

All financial data you enter into Pockly — including transactions, categories, budgets, and recurring items — is stored exclusively on your device using local on-device storage (SQLite). This data:

Never leaves your device
Is never transmitted to our servers (we have none)
Is not shared with any third party — including our advertising and analytics providers
Is deleted when you uninstall the app

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Pockly displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use certain information from your device to serve relevant ads, including:

Advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android)
IP address and approximate location
Device information (model, OS version)
App usage information

This data is collected by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized ads at any time through your device settings:

iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable for Pockly
Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization

3. Analytics and Crash Reporting (Firebase)

Pockly uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, both provided by Google, to understand how the app is used and to diagnose crashes. These tools collect:

Anonymous usage events — that a transaction was added or edited, that a recurring transaction was created, that onboarding was completed, and which screens were opened
Crash reports and non-fatal error reports, including the device model, OS version, and the state of the app at the time
An app instance identifier, which is not linked to your name or email because Pockly has neither

What is never sent

These events never include your financial data. Transaction amounts, notes, category names, and budget figures are never sent to Firebase or anywhere else. An event records only that something happened and its coarse shape — for example, that an expense was added, but never how much it was for.

This data is collected by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Notifications

Pockly may request permission to send local notifications to remind you of recurring transactions. These notifications are generated and displayed entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to any server.

5. No Account Required

Pockly does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.

6. Children's Privacy

Pockly is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
